Storing your jewels is key to keeping them looking their best. Due to the nature of sterling silver, tarnish can occur if your jewels remain unworn and stored in a cloth bag or box. The good news is it's an easy clean with a good sterling silver cleaning solution or a polishing cloth.
Another fact that you may not know is that sterling silver polishing clothes can only be used on polished jewellery. If this is used on a matte piece of jewellery, it will make it dull and go black. If you have a lot of brushed sterling silver we recommend using a sterling silver cleaning dip.
The best way to keep the tarnish away is to wear your jewellery, store on a stand or store separately into zip lock bags. We also recommend keeping silica packets near your jewels or stored with the jewels as this will absorb the chemicals in the air and prolong/can eliminate the tarnish process.
